Appleton Preserve is 22.98 acres along the West Side of La Canada Road south of Via Monserate.
 

This preserve was acquired as an on-site mitigation in 2006 through an agreement with Malabar Ranch LLC, the County of San Diego, and the FLC and as such is not open to the public.  However, walkers can walk along La Canada Road to view the riparian habitat with magnificent sycamores and live oak trees found on the preserve.
